'Bristol Channel' rhymes with 'flannel'. The Pobble wrapped his nose in a flannel, on his Aunt Jobiska's advice (because as long as his nose was warm, no harm could come to his toes). But the flannel was carried away by a sea–green porpoise – after which, when the Pobble came to observe his feet, "His face at once became forlorn / On perceiving that all his toes were gone!"
